The decision may seem like one that many artists would struggle with. After all, Maren's album Humble Quest is nominated for Album of the Year that night, but for Maren, there is a sense of relief.
"I think I was more sad going last year," Maren explained. "I'm not good at those events because I'm awkward. But this time I kind of feel peaceful at the notion of not going."
Maren's hesitation comes after she and Brittany exchanged tense words over social media. Last month, Brittany posted an Instagram Reel, with the caption, "I'd really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase."
Although Maren didn't directly address Brittany, she seemingly referenced her by writing in an Aug. 26 tweet, "It's so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie."
