Ariana Grande blasts body-shaming fans: 'Healthy can look different' - New York Post

Ariana Grande urged body shamers to “be gentle” Tuesday after photos of her out and about in London over the weekend sparked “concern” for her health.

The 29-year-old “Dangerous Woman” singer posted a 3-minute TikTok, suggesting others should be “less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies,” even if it’s “something good and well-intentioned.”

Her plea comes after the just over 5-foot-tall pop performer and her “Wicked” co-star Cynthia Erivo, 36, were both photographed at a London concert by Jeff Goldblum, 70, last weekend.

Wearing an oversized pink jacket and white high-heel boots, fans online suggested that Grande lost weight.

The “Thank U, Next” singer has spent the past six months portraying Glinda in the film adaption of the Broadway musical, which is due in theaters on Dec. 25, 2024.

She even dyed her dark brown hair blond and lightened her eyebrows for the role.

One fan-made TikTok showcasing other people’s concerns over her “thin” appearance has more than 1.6 million views — and also features older pictures of Grande to support the claim that she has “always been skinny.”

“I know personally, for me, the body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body,” Grande stated with a furrowed brow in her own TikTok. “I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly, and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my ‘healthy.’ “

“But that, in fact, wasn’t my ‘healthy,’ ” she claimed.

“I know I shouldn’t have to explain that, Grande continued. “But I do feel like maybe having an openness and some sort of vulnerability here will be something, like, good might come from it.”

She concluded that thought with: “Healthy can look different.”

Grande did not mention specific pictures or a timeframe to which she was referring.

The Post has contacted representatives for Grande for comment.

“The second thing is you never know what someone’s going through,” she continued. “So even if you are coming from a loving place and a caring place, that person probably is working on it or has a support system that they are working on it with, and you never know, so be gentle with each other and with yourselves.”

The former Nickelodeon kid has experienced multiple tough times in the public eye.

On May 22, 2017, 23 people died and over 1,000 were injured in a bombing outside her concert in Manchester, England.

Grande’s former boyfriend, the rapper Mac Miller, died of an overdose at age 26 in September 2018.

At that time she also was engaged to former “Saturday Night Live” comedian Pete Davidson, now 29 — a relationship that ultimately failed.

But on Tuesday, Grande’s fans shared their love and support for the singer.
