Taylor Swift's legendary Fourth of July parties are back — and so, too, is the iconic friendship between Swift and fellow pop superstar Selena Gomez.
In an Instagram posted Friday, Swift wished fans a "belated independence day" alongside adorable snapshots of her partying with a celeb squad that included Gomez, the Haim sisters (who opened for Swift for part of her tour), and Swift's longtime friend and stylist Ashley Avignone.
One photo shows an affectionate hug between Swift and Gomez, while another shows the group in an apparent karaoke session.
"Happy belated Independence Day from your local neighborhood independent girlies 😎," Swift captioned the photos.

Swift and Gomez's friendship dates back years, and the pair have often talked on social media and in interviews about their love for one another.
In a 2019 interview with UK's Kiss FM, Gomez recounted the time she played her songs "Lose You to Love Me" and "Look at Her Now" for her musical bestie.
"It was one of the coolest experiences because I've been friends with her for over a decade and love her family as well," Gomez said. "She played it and her and her mom just started crying tears and tears... It's gonna make me cry thinking about it, because it wasn't just about how great the song was, which is a lot coming from her, it was just that they had been on that journey with me, intimately."
She continued, "They were crying because of how proud they were for me stepping into a whole new era of my life, and it not involving the horrible things, the abuse, the emotional chaos. It felt like I had a huge sigh of relief."
Gomez's "Lose You to Love Me" gives fans an emotional look at the singer closing the door on a relationship that left her hurting, which many took as a nod to her past with ex Justin Bieber.
