The arrest comes hours after the comedian performed at the Laugh Factory's community Thanksgiving feast.
Afterparty actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish was arrested early Friday morning for allegedly driving under the influence, the Beverly Hills Police Department tells Rolling Stone.
According to a BHPD public information officer, police responded to a call of a person blocking a roadway, possibly slumped over the wheel. Responding officers found Haddish, conducted a DUI investigation, and arrested her.
Hours before the arrest, Haddish, 43, performed at the West Hollywood Laugh Factory, at a free Thanksgiving event, TMZ reported. As of Friday afternoon, she was still in police custody and in the process of being booked, a BHPD public information officer tells Rolling Stone.
Representatives for Haddish did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone‘s request for comment.
This isn’t the first time Haddish has faced DUI allegations. The comedian, who is best known for her role in the 2017 buddy comedy Girls Trip, was arrested in January 2022 in Georgia after witnesses reported seeing a driver “asleep at the wheel.” She was arrested and transported to Fayette County Jail, before being released on bail. The case is still ongoing and Haddish is due back in court on Dec. 4, according to TMZ.
Haddish mentioned the incident at least twice during later appearances on both The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and a guest hosting spot on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“I can say this Jimmy, I’ve been praying to God to send me a new man, a good man,” Haddish said to Fallon. “And God went ahead and sent me four in a uniform. I wasn’t expecting it.”
“Yes, I did get charged with a DUI,” she said on Ellen. “Which stands for Dumb Unfortunate Incidents.”
