Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood’s daughters, Harper and Finley, are “reeling” from her death.
The guitarist, who was married to the late singer from 2006 to 2021, told People in a statement Wednesday that the 14-year-old twins were not “prepare[d] for” the “unexpected” and “incomprehensible” tragedy.
“The most important thing to me at this time is to take care of my daughters, making sure they always feel safe and loved,” Lockwood, 61, went on to write. “Both of them have incredible spirit and they will carry our family’s legacy on for the rest of their lives.
“Since they were born, Harper and Finley have brought me profound joy and I remain devoted to them,” he continued. “We ask for privacy at this incredibly difficult time.”
Lockwood previously reacted to his ex-wife’s Jan. 12 death via lawyer Joe Yanny.
The attorney told The Post at the time that Lockwood and his girls’ “world ha[d] been turned on its ear.”
Yanny’s statement continued, “Michael had been hoping for a speedy and complete recovery because her children needed her. It is very sad it didn’t turn out that way.”
Presley’s other ex-husbands have expressed their sadness since the songwriter went into cardiac arrest in her Calabasas home and ultimately died at a nearby hospital.
Nicolas Cage, who was married to Presley from 2002 to 2004, told the Hollywood Reporter that his ex-wife had “had the greatest laugh” and “lit up every room.”

Even Michael Jackson’s estate wrote via Instagram that the late King of Pop “cherished” his two-year marriage to Elvis Presley’s daughter.
Lisa Marie was also married to Danny Keough from 1988 to 1994, and the former couple were reportedly living together when she passed away.
The musician is believed to be the male voice in Lisa Marie’s housekeeper’s 911 call directing emergency responders to the scene.
The exes are the parents of daughter Riley, 33, and son Benjamin, who died by suicide in 2020 at age 27.
Lisa Marie will be laid to rest alongside her late child at Graceland. A public memorial service is scheduled at the Tennessee estate on Jan. 22.
